Hi, my name is Joe Bryant. Thank you for visiting this website. I pray for your help, no matter how small. Please read on.
I will never forget the day; Sunday, April 26, 2009, when Denny Bellesi, a
guest speaker at Ponte Vedra Presbyterian Church,
ended his sermon by asking 50 people to volunteer and come forward. I was one of
the 50. Imagine our surprise when our minister walked down the line and handed
each of us a crisp, brand new $100 bill.
Denny then said: "I have an assignment for you that will change your
life. A KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT"(Please click on the button above for more
detail). He then said "before you say no, before you tell me you're too busy,
too untrained, or too ill-equipped to handle one more assignment - especially
one for the Kingdom of God - think about this. If you accept this
assignment, you will take this $100 and increase it up to a hundredfold or more.
You will have the means to help countless people - some with food and clothing,
others with medicine or the gospel message - and in the process, no matter how
much money your investment turns into, no matter how many people you will help,
you will walk away with more than what your investment will ever make and more
than those you've invest in. Interested?"
So began my journey which has led to this website.
God brought me back into his fold about ten months ago. It began with
wanting to ensure my 11 year old daughter had some foundation in Christian
principles. I'm a single parent and I had begun to experience an extremely
powerful feeling, almost like a calling, to get my daughter to Church. Ponte
Vedra Presbyterian Church has a phenomenal reputation in
our community for its children's Christian program and it's close to my
neighborhood, so I thought, "let's give this a try." My daughter loved it and I
found a warm, open Church.
Two events at Church totally changed my life. First, in
November, at the end of a service we were shown the horrible results of a huge
flood in Haiti. Our Jacksonville Church supports a missionary,
Charles Amici, who runs a school and orphanage, as well as a Church in Haiti.
(please click on the link to the left for more information.) The pictures we
were shown that day showed absolute devastation. I had previously heard so much
about the pain and suffering and poverty in Haiti from my sister, who is a
nurse, who had gone on numerous medical mission trips to Haiti. The pain and
agony that was expressed in the letter read to us from Charles that day was
heart breaking. Here was a man who had totally dedicated his faith and
life to trying to make a difference in one of the poorest and most uneducated
countries in the world and his dream had basically been destroyed. At that
moment I felt like I was called to do something to make a difference for this
mission.
The second event was on a happier note, but the magnitude of the call
was equally as great. Our Church has built a permanent village
and every Christmas season we bring the village of Bethlehem at the time of the
birth of Christ back to life. My daughter was so excited about the chance
to participate and she particularly wanted to work the many live animals. So,
Dad signed us up and we worked all three nights. Almost 10,000 people a night
came through the village and I was struck by how many children were there. It
was obvious this was a highlight of their lives and you could sense a palatable
impact the Walk through Bethlehem was having on these children. A good friend
wrote about her experience working at the village. Click on the link on the left
to read her moving story.
As I said, these two events totally changed my life. I
recognized my failings, my ego, my greed, my lack of faith. Because of
these two events and along with the unbelievable Christian fellowship I
enjoyed with friends and neighbors made me want to change my life and return to
the warm fold of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I
was filled with a passion I had never felt before and I made a commitment to
myself and to God. I was going to do something that could somehow make an
impact on these two fabulous missions. I was going to become a "giver" and
somehow raise a substantial amount of money for these two life changing missions.
YOU CAN'T IMAGINE THE FEELINGS THAT COURSED THROUGH MY BODY THAT SUNDAY
WHEN DENNY MADE THE FATEFUL STATEMENTS THAT I SHARED WITH YOU ABOVE. I COULDN'T
HELP BUT CRY AS I FELT GOD ANSWERING MY PRAYER AND GIVING ME THE
OPPORTUNITY I WAS LOOKING FOR. I GLADLY ACCEPTED MY KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT
BECAUSE I KNEW THAT WITH GOD'S HELP MY DESIRE TO RAISE A SIGNIFICANT
AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR THESE MISSIONS WAS GOING TO OCCUR.
Now, I NEED your help!!!
I know how often you are asked to help and donate. I'm just like
you. It seems like every day something tugs at my heart and makes me want to try
to help. Almost every day someone asks me, like you, to help with some extremely
worthy cause. How do I draw the line? How do I decide where my contributions
go to? What makes me say yes to some and no to others.
Choices......opportunities.....anyone with a heart wants to be able to make a
difference. What do we do?
I have prayed with every ounce of passion that I can muster to ask God to
help me make a mark on your heart and for you to open your wallet every so
slightly and help me make a difference that can provide help and change
lives. On the left of this page is a "Donate Now" box. We will
obviously accept whatever donation you might so graciously give. Please, please,
please make at least a $1 donation. I believe that with God's help and blessing
we can raise at least $250,000 for these fabulous works. Please help me make
my KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT come true to the Glory of God.
God Bless You.
